Tuition

Students enrolled in weekly lessons at a recurring time will be billed monthly tuition.  Invoices will be emailed at the beginning of each month and payment is due by the 10th.  We accept cash or checks.  You may also pay with a credit card or PayPal.  Most families find it easiest to set up automatic payments through their online banking/bill-pay, and that is our recommendation.

Cancellations  & Make-up Credits

If you cancel your lesson with at least 24 hours' notice you will be issued a make-up credit.  A make-up credit can be redeemed for a make-up lesson, within three months of the canceled

lesson. You can do this through the student portal (the "login" page on our website). When we as teachers cancel your lesson you will ALWAYS be issued a make-up credit.

Week-by-Week Students “A La Carte”

This is an alternative for students who cannot commit to a weekly lesson time. Please email or call us to book your lessons individually.  The same cancellation policies apply (you will still be expected to pay for a lesson canceled with less than 24 hours' notice).

30 minutes: $34

45 minutes: $49

60 minutes: $62

Student Expectations

Students are responsible for the cost of their own instruments and sheet music.  Students are expected to practice at least five days each week (except for very young singers). The length and structure of practicing will depend on the individual so please ask if you are unclear. You are welcome and encouraged to record your lesson to help with practicing.

In-Person Lessons

The majority of our teaching is in-person and that is our preference.  However, we do expect our in-person students to occasionally pivot to virtual lessons (in cases of illness, covid exposure, etc...).

Virtual Lessons

Virtual lessons are available as a backup option in cases of illness, covid exposure, etc.  We are able to accommodate a small number of students with long-term virtual lessons.  If this is an accessibility need for your family please don't hesitate to ask.

Pandemic Precautions (updated June 20th, 2022)

Greg and Sarah are fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 (Pfizer-BioNTech).

In-person lessons are available to all students. Masks are optional for students.

Families may choose whether to mask, and Greg and Sarah will respect their choice.

Greg and Sarah will also take masking cues from students. If a student walks in wearing a mask, Greg and Sarah will mask as well.

Online lessons are available in cases of COVID-19 exposure, illness, and for accessibility.

We will continue to disinfect high-touch surfaces, and we will keep hand sanitizer available, though it will not be required.

We ask that in-person students switch to online lessons if they have symptoms of or have been exposed to COVID-19.

We run H13 HEPA purifiers on low during lessons.

We will continue to maintain social distance from students when possible.

Discontinuing Lessons

You may discontinue lessons at any time.  Please let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust our schedules and cancel future invoices.  We will issue applicable make-up credits but no refunds.

We moved to the Portland area in 2013 and have been blessed with gainful self-employment and a beautiful community.  Thank you for entrusting your and your children’s music education to us. We take our work seriously and consider ourselves very lucky!
