Cancellations  & Make-up Credits

If you cancel your lesson with at least 24 hours' notice you will be issued a make-up credit.  A make-up credit can be redeemed for a make-up lesson, within three months of the canceled lesson. You can do this through the student portal (the "login" page on our website). When we as teachers cancel your lesson you will ALWAYS be issued a make-up credit.

Student Expectations

Students are responsible for the cost of their own instruments and sheet music. Students are expected to practice at least five days each week (except for very young singers). The length and structure of practicing will depend on the individual so please ask if you are unclear.

In-Person Lessons

The majority of our teaching is in-person and that is our preference.  However, we do expect our in-person students to occasionally pivot to virtual lessons (in cases of covid exposure, etc...).

Virtual Lessons

Virtual lessons are available as a backup option in cases of illness, covid exposure, etc.  We are able to accommodate a small number of students with long-term virtual lessons.  If this is an accessibility need for your family please don't hesitate to ask.

Pandemic Precautions (updated November 29, 2022)

Greg and Sarah are up-to-date with CDC-recommended vaccinations, including the flu and bivalent COVID boosters.

We ask that in-person students switch to online lessons if they are a close contact or have tested positive for COVID-19.

Masks are optional.

Greg and Sarah will wear masks by request.

Piano keys are disinfected between students.

We run H13 HEPA purifiers on low during lessons.

Discontinuing Lessons

You may discontinue lessons at any time.  Please let us know as soon as possible so we can adjust our schedules and cancel future invoices.  We will issue applicable make-up credits but no refunds.

We moved to the Portland area in 2013 and have been blessed with gainful self-employment and a beautiful community.  Thank you for entrusting your and your children’s music education to us. We take our work seriously and consider ourselves very lucky!
